Bestival 2015

BESTIVAL, The time has come I'm a bit late posting this as its been a busy September however the blog updates MUST continue! Some of my Bestival work has added to my Music Portfolio  and Previous works, but this just lists a few of my favourites.

This years I was shooting for a main travel partner in helping this awesome festival continue its success. Wightlink Ferries helps promote through competitions, Photo coverage as well as video from each of the 4 days.

Some massive acts again this year brought to you by Rob Da Bank and Josie. Missy Elliott's first UK appearance in 6 years provided a new sound to the main stage. Not forgetting the classics Duran Duran and the electronic duo The Chemical Brothers.

Weather fortunately turned out to pretty good and the only rain that we had was on the Sunday, and my god did the heavens open! Luckily it came just after Missy Elliott had closed and the fireworks despite being somewhat staggered due to the weather went up and looked amazing!!

Heres some of my snaps from this year!

Bournemouth Air Festival 2015

Bournemouth Air Festival has arrived, and unfortunately so has the rain, Thursday was called off due to rain but Friday turned things around full circle and a day of beautiful blue skies and sun. I had been at work all of Friday so my first chance to capture the festival was Saturday which remained bright and sunny with patchy cloud until about 4.

My fun was had on Saturday when I managed to get to the top of the Cumberland Hotel, and when I mean the top, I mean the Roof! Then afterwards joined up with the FONIX team and watched the Vulcan fly by from the best vantage point on the whole festival!

Sunday was a rest day for me but did snap the HMS Iron Duke sailing past Bournemouth Pier and the Helicopter fly-by to end the festival.

Heres some of the photos over the weekend, I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Bournemouth Calendar Girls

This week I was invited by a good friend of mine Mr Matt Hardy to assist at the Bournemouth Calendar Girls Final. What a laugh this was, 7 Limos, 50 girls lots of beautiful dresses and a Church named HALO, raising money for those with that horrible C word, Cancer. local businesses joined together to make this event possible. It was lovely meeting new people, one of the main reasons I love Photography and my job is the ability to meet so many great people from all different industries, heres some of the photos!

Enjoy the Photos

Will & Francesca's Wedding Day

This weekend I was attending the beautiful wedding of Francesca and Will. The wedding took place in a lovely barn/hotel in Dorking named Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel, on the East side of Guildford. Despite the weather for the previous 2 days the sky brightened up and the ceremony went on without a hitch. It was lovely to see my old friend Anton again, who played Groomsman and a great chance to see two amazing people say their vows to each other.

Ive uploaded a few photos to Social media but wanted to highlight a few photos before Honeymoon.

I hope you guys have a wonderful honeymoon in the Dominican Republic!

Bournemouth Fireworks Display

During August we are lucky enough to have a fireworks display 5 minutes from home. Bournemouth Pier is lit up every Friday at 10PM, after an early finish at work I decided to head down but not before having a BBQ on the beach with friends.

Thanks for looking

Camp Bestival 2015

This years CampBestival hosted an impressive line up, with The likes of Mr Tumble... Jokes, but seriously he was pretty ace, there was confetti and everything! The Castle stage was hosted by Saturday night headline act Kaiser Chiefs, Ella Eyre, George the Poet, DJ Underworld, Clean Bandit, Wretch 32 along with many other fabulous artists.

Unfortunately I couldn't stick around much over the weekend as I was knee deep in weddings however I did shoot a few artists on Saturday and captured a bit of the magic. This festival breads so much positive energy its definitely worth a look in. Even if your not a kid, this festival has loads to do and see that adults and teens will still find interesting and fun to watch.

Think my favourite part of this weekend was seeing some of the horses from Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. The riders and horses were incredible and so majestic!

Heres a few shots for you guys

Thanks for looking,

Devon DUBFEST 2015

This weekend I was invited to go with a good friend and Photographer to a VW Festival in Devon know as DubFest. Now I love classic cars, and have just recently started developing a love for Transporters and their amazing ability to be customised to anything that you need!

This was a perfect intro to some of the best Dub Campers around. We headed down on Saturday morning due to bad weather on Friday and had a thoroughly bright and sunny Saturday to enjoy the festival.

Heres some of the photos!

Hope you enjoy,

Remembering the roots

Sitting at my desk editing this evening, and for the past week or so has reminded me of where my music love and interest began. It all started with Rock despite my interests and previous work in EDM, Trance that sort of corner. My love has always been for bands like Disturbed, SOiL, Static X, and A Perfect Circle. So to remember my roots I thought id do a little post on some of the rock bands I've shot. Also from a photography perspective, its safe to say that they can be some of the challenging 3 songs you can get behind the camera. The hardest I've ever had to work was actually for The Prodigy at this years Isle of Wight. It was raining hard, I had a rain cover but had lost my eye cup so couldn't fix my weather gear to be able to see through the viewfinder. The Prodigy move around and use lighting that makes them almost impossible to shoot. I know now what my friends in the industry talk about, when they say Prodigy are a pretty good challenge.

However... We Like Challenges ;)

The Larmer Tree Experience

Larmer Tree is a small dorset based festival set in the heart of the old Larmer Tree estate. Once an ancient burial ground is now home to a beautiful little folk festival which takes place every year in July. Its one of the most beautiful small festivals around and brings such a chilled family vibe for those looking for a great family festival and a chance to relax at the same time this is the one you would want.

I wasn't here with any fancy bands or press passes this year just attending with family and seeing what shots I could get. I hope you enjoy Saturdays view of Larmer Tree, and as a heads up this festival still gets some big names, such as this years Sir Tom Jones, Van Morrison and the most recognised artist linked to this festival Jools Holland.

Loved these guys, really cool outfits!

HALO - XTRAVAGANZA / The Real Brothers

Tonight I covered a friend of mines night at Halo Bournemouth, for those who don't know Halo it used to be V or LandMark years back. Halo is a super modern high profile niche club in the centre of Bournemouth. Super high ceilings and incredible acoustics from its sheer size and well places speaker systems make watching a DJ or act is a real treat. Last night was all about the Real Brothers. I hadn't shot these guys before and was really, majorly impressed! The music was amazing, some great House music projected out and the time was a taken to make the drops special and memorable for the crowd. Fire Performer and friend of mine Dan Sheva Phillips from Candi also showing some mad skills, and by far one of my favourite fire performers!

Photos below, enjoy!
