Flying in from London after an unforgettable shoot with legends Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, my transition to photographing Parookaville 2024 felt like stepping from one epic creative canvas into another. Parookaville, known as one of Europe’s largest and most immersive music festivals, offers something more than just music—it’s an entire city brought to life.

From the moment I arrived, the scale of the event was humbling. Nestled in the sprawling grounds of Weeze Airport, the festival doesn’t just host stages; it builds an entire alternate world. As an official photographer, I’ve worked some incredible gigs, but Parookaville's attention to detail in set design and storytelling is unrivalled. Streets lined with retro-style buildings, bustling "districts," and jaw-dropping stages make every corner of the festival feel alive. The main stage, with its towering LED screens and choreographed pyrotechnics, serves as the heartbeat of this bustling utopia.

Heading down to Bournemouth Beach with my New 500mm Nikon Super Telephoto lens was such a buzz. With no commercial pressures weighing me down, I had the freedom to just focus on capturing the surfers doing their thing.

Watching them ride those waves was mesmerizing, and with the new lens, I could really zoom in and get those close-up shots that show off their skills.

I decided to go for black and white photos because it just felt right for the vibe. The contrast between the ocean spray and the sky looked killer in monochrome, adding a cool dramatic touch to the shots.

It wasn't just about snapping pics of surfers; it was about capturing the essence of Bournemouth Beach in a timeless way that speaks to the soul.
