LOCKDOWN UK (BOURNEMOUTH)

So as of the 23rd of March 2020, the UK entered an unprecedented response level to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 Virus which originally started in China back in January. It has since made its way round the globe causing thousands of deaths and countless sick and bedridden. As of the date above the UK entered a state of Lockdown issued by the UK PM Boris Johnson.

I live in a small town called Bournemouth, which has many great aspects such as a beautiful 7 mile beach. Known and recognised as one of the best beaches in Europe. It also has a top University which is recognised as one of the best in the country for media students looking to make their way into the TV/Film industry.

Bournemouth being a seaside town, depends on a lot of its trade from visitors and shoppers. We have a number of local bars, clubs and restaurants which all cater for out of towners, as well people who work locally. The lockdown has since shut all shops, bars and restaurants and generally the only stores open are food shops and pharmacies. So during this unprecedented period I thought it would be a good idea to document the town now its almost deserted! Im doing this in my 1 hour exercise period each day, so not to break any governmental guidelines and will be adding to these images where I can.

Hopefully this will all be over soon and my town like many others can get back to doing what it does best!
