Southampton vs Millwall (2024)
/Not the result we wanted, but it was so great to catch up with a few familiar faces and shoot a bit of intensive sport. I was testing a 500mm F4 I recently acquired and the 100-400mm from Nikon. The 500mm is the latest FL version for F mount, with the FTZ adapter and the 100-400mm is the Latest Mirrorless version running on my Z6ii (Soon to be Z8) We had some interesting weather, with cloud, rain, sun, sun & rain. I used a custom White Balance of 5700-5900k, as I prefer the warmer tones.
It’s safe to say super impressed with them both in the field, maybe 500mm is too long for Football (most probably) but still great if you have a good alternative option like the 70-200mm. Id really enjoy checking out a 300mm 2.8F on the Z9 as that would probably be perfect combined with the 45MP.
Check out this little gallery of some of today's moments at Saints Marys vs Millwall. The Score ended 2-1 to Millwall, after a penalty in the late stages of the first half, and some close calls for Southampton in the second for an equaliser.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Big thank you to Matt Watson at Southampton FC for granting me a pass.
